May 29, 1953 marked the first successful ascent of Mt.Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. 60 years hence, today we have many successful expeditions conquering the peak from both sides. To all those adventurous souls and peak maniacs here's a loud "Cheers!"
This is a file picture from 2009 from the summit of Mt.Kalapathar. After a treacherous climb starting at 3 AM in the morning, braving cold winds and snowfall I was treated by this mesmerizing Sunrise from behind Mt.Everest, which I will never forget in my life!!
Black pyramid right in the middle is Mt.Everest. Summit is clearly lighted by light rays. Mt.Lhotse to the left and Mt.Nuptse to the right. Sun is rising from Tibetan side.
Expected to see Large on Black.
