The favorite time pass place for Mumbaikars .. Gateway of India!

It is the place where the viceroys and governors once used to land upon their arrival in India. Though built as a welcome to King George V for his visit of 1911, then an event of grand significance for British India and the British empire, today serves as a "monumental memento" of colonialisation and subjugation by the British over the people of India. India is so blessed with perennial rivers, plenty of sunshine and mineral rich soil. It is totally on us to preserve this natural beauty and make the most out of this blessing! If India has to become a developed country one day, this sure is the only way!

Taj - The Marble beauty of India!, originally uploaded by £$þ.

Must see Large on Black.

Taj Mahal doesn't need any special introduction to anybody! It is one of the most visited and photographed monument of this country and has been photographed in all possible angles and point of views. Thought of coming up with something interesting during my recent visit to Taj and now this is my interpretation of this most beautiful monument - "Planet Taj Mahal".

I created this photograph using a 360 degree hand-held panorama (Well, tripod is not allowed inside the monument!). In this photograph, the main Mausoleum complex containing the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan can be seen at the top. Eastern gate of Taj is on the left side and the Western gate is on the right side. The main entrance of Taj is seen at the bottom of the photograph. The famous charbagh or mughal garden along with fountains and pools can be seen at the center. The symmetry of construction is very much visible from this point of view!
